Description

Melinda has interned at GM and Apple, and is currently working as a mechanical engineer at Lam Research designing and building robots. One of the most valuable lessons she has learned from working as an engineer is how different the design process is in industry versus in school. Learn about some of the steps that go into a product cycle, from ideation to mass production.

The workshop will cover the different phases of the product development cycle, focusing on what an engineer working in industry would typically be responsible for in each phase. It will heavily emphasize product development from a hardware perspective, but all majors are welcome.
