About Us

Tau Beta Pi

Tau Beta Pi is the oldest national engineering honor society in the country, and one of the most recognized national societies. Members experience a wide array of activities and opportunities throughout the year. TBP stresses scholarship, personal character, and service to the profession, community, and college. Every semester, we invite the top fifth of seniors and the top eighth of juniors from all engineering majors to join.

Professional Development

TBP provides many opportunities for students to develop their professional side while still in school. All candidates have their resume individually critiqued by TBP's professional development committee. Additionally, members' resumes are put into a resume book for our corporate sponsors. TBP also helps students hone their professional relations skills through interview workshops.

Community

Tau Bates are members for life. Tau Beta Pi offers a chance for students to work and socialize with their fellow engineers outside of a school setting and to form lasting bonds with their peers.

Fun

Tau Beta Pi loves to have fun! Throughout the semester there are over a dozen fun events to destress and have a good time. Everything from ultimate frisbee to karaoke is welcome here.

Opportunity

Joining Tau Beta Pi means becoming part of an organization that is bigger than any one person or university. With over 200 chapters, Tau Bates initiate into an active network of information and support.

Pioneers in Engineering

Pioneers in Engineering (PiE) is a student-run engineering outreach organization based in UC Berkeley. It was founded in 2008 by members of Tau Beta Pi with the goal of making STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) programs more accessible to all K-12 students.
