Project Description

Packet turn-in ran from 9am to 3pm on Tuesday, November 25th. Various officers were there at all times to make sure all the candidates turned in completed packets and knew about initiation, the banquet, and fees as well as to answer any last minute questions the candidates may have had.

Event Preparation

Reserving 220 Bechtel is not necessary, as it is shared office space among many engineering societies. Peter Masatani passed around sign up sheets at the November 18th officer meeting for officers to sign up for times to be in the room in one hour shifts from 9am-3pm on November 25th. Peter Masatani arrived at 8:55 am to open the room and greet the first few candidates. He brought instructions regarding what to collect and say for officers, sign up sheets for the post-initiation banquet, and checklists for candidate requirements.

Problems Encountered

Nothing really. A few candidates decided to forget to bring a part or their whole packet, so arrangements had to be made to get those last few items.

Improvements Suggested

Make sure candidates put their names on everything. Perhaps provided some kind of food would make it more enjoyable for the candidates.

Enjoyment

The event is enjoyable in that we get to see the candidates complete their requirements for the semester. It is an effective way to gather the required paperwork and national fees and probably will be done again.
