Project Description

The purpose of this survey was to determine what our chapter does well and what needs improvement. Hopefully, this information will allow us to improve TBP's image to the candidates, members and the university.

Event Preparation

Robert created the feedback form located at http://tbp.berkeley.edu/feed.html. After creating the form, he created a simple perl script to handle the submission. Next, he debugged the script. Then, he emailed the candidate and member email lists and asked them to fill out the survey. Finally, he periodically checked the results and emailed them to all of the officers. The following questions were asked on the survey: 1. candidate/member/officer 2. Will you be active with tbp next semester?: 3. Why? 4. Why did you join TBP? 5. What was your most enjoyable experience this semester? 6. What was your least enjoyable experience this semester? 7. Suggestions?

Problems Encountered

The major problem was the lack of member participation. Only 2 members responded. Robert hoped that the info from this survey would allow TBP to improve member participation by incorporating member suggestion into strategic planning for the semester.

Improvements Suggested

Robert suggests that the survey be administered before initiation. This will prevent the survey from conflicting with finals. Robert suggests that two separate surveys be constructed, one for members and one for candidates, because the members and candidates have different expectations and experiences. Robert hopes that more officers help construct the survey in the future. In order to increase member participation, Robert suggests that CAA gives a free t shirt to one of the participants of the survey.
