Project Description
Members and Candidates stop by this 2-hour event to get food and drinks. Many stay and chat before heading off to class or other activities.
Event Preparation
Menzies Chen, Peter Chien, Nathan Cheng and Kathy Wong traded off the responsibilities. Different people were usually in charge of the donuts/bagels and the drinks. The event is always held in 220 Bechtel, so no reservations are necessary. The first donuts & bagels is a slightly larger event, as it sometimes coincides with Packet Turn-In. Each time the event is held, approximately 20-35 bagels are purchased along with approximately 30 donuts. Several different types of cream cheeses are also bought. The drinks are usually milk and orange juice. Orange juice is usually more popular. Sunny Delight is often very cheap at Safeway. Each event costs approximately $40, with $5-8 dollars spent on drinks and the rest on food. Bagels are best if gotten from Noah's that morning. It is often best if the person with a car goes and gets the drinks and someone else takes them inside--that way they don't have to be lugged up the hill.
Problems Encountered
None.
Improvements Suggested
Make sure that the first donuts & bagels has plenty of food--the most people show up for this one.
Enjoyment
People definitely like the food; many take an extra bagel with them for lunch. The donuts are also very popular.
