Hispanic Engineers & Scientists (HES)

What is HES?
As a student chapter of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE), HES represents some of the best Latino engineers and scientists dedicated to the advancement minorities in science and engineering. It works towards increasing the number of talented minorities attending UC Berkeley and also other four-year institutions. Over the last 29 years, it has accomplished its goals through outreach and academic success programs that provide academic and peer support to other Latino students.
Who is HES for?
For those who have the passion increase the number of civically responsible Latino engineers and scientists who succeed academically, lead professionally, and passionately contribute to society, you are encouraged to join. Of course, everyone is welcome.
Activities
Some typical activies include:
- Companies and Graduate Schools workshop
- Helped out with YES Day
- Mini YES Day Mentors who help some Bay Area youth and make positive influence on kids in need of romodels in turbulent times.
- Tutoring @ Bahia
Mentor K-4th grade students for an afterschool program.
