What is ASCE?

The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) is the oldest engineering society in the United States that caters to over 115,000 professional and 15,000 students in civil engineering. Cal's ASCE is one of the top three student chapters of the organization in the United States. The club holds over 80 events every year for students to social and interact with faculty and professionals. Monthly meetings include free food, talks by professors and of course a chance to learn about all events ASCE holds. Students can also find old exams, cheap snacks and a place to do homework or hang out in the ASCE office. All the CE competition teams: Concrete Canoe, Concrete Cube, Environmental Water Team and Steel Bridge, are apart of ASCE.

Who is ASCE for?

ASCE is designed for civil and environmental engineering students, but everyone is welcome to join. Membership is $15 for the year and includes membership in the national organization. To join simply go to the ASCE office in 339 Davis Hall or find an officer at any of the ASCE events.
