[ Timothy ] Hi,

I\'m a 4th year ME/EECS student. Somehow, I managed to go from ME to EE to CS across these four years as I will be heading to Microsoft when I graduate (yet the majority of my classes this year is ME). I love hanging out and just talking about random things, although through the years it\'s been getting a bit, well technical. I still have a love for music, literature and the arts even though it\'s been a while since I\'ve been immersed in any of it. I almost decided to become an English major when coming to Berkeley.

However, deep down I\'m a bit fan of engineering and love (maybe it\'ll depend on the time of the semester ;) ) engineering project classes. I like to build things, design things and solve real problems. I have a lot of good stories so don\'t be afraid to come talk to me.

Lastly, I\'d like to say, the true meaning of Tau Beta Pi is .... \"kicking reason to the curb and doing the impossible; fighting the power, and piercing the heavens\"

[ Christina ] is NOT GONNA LIE...she is quite excited about another AWESOME semester of TBP this spring!

[ Ting-Ting ] Hi, I\'m a 2nd year student, ME/MSE. I truely believe that deep down (though some not so deep, while others deeper), everyone is good at heart. :)

[ Xiao-Yu ] Xiao-Yu is a BioE major looking for some additional homes in MechE and EECS. Unlike the other traitors, however, he won\'t be bailing from BioE. He enjoys taking way too many classes in discordant subjects to lower his GPA. He also enjoys robotics, kites, tutoring, food, and finding an apartment closer to campus so he can stop commuting. He is addicted to the red book and the gray book (the gray one is better) and will give advice on command. You can find him wandering campus, dwelling in the Etch basement, or waiting for the last BART train to Richmond at 12:50AM +/- 15. Feel free to approach at any time to talk about anything, everything, and 42.

For the record, if you know how to pronounce his name in mandarin, it is the third intonation for both. If you do not, or even if you do, trying something like shiao - you. He will respond to many variations and will not be offended at them. However, he already knows his last name is FU, probably has heard that joke you are thinking of, and wishes people would get over it already. Mangos are delicious. Guavas make good juice.

[ Carey ] Hello all, I am Carey. I am a third year ME major. So, some stuff about me... I like sunshine, the color blue, nice smelling things, and mushrooms. I drink coffee for the taste, not to keep me awake. If I really need to stay awake, I drink tea. I am selectively uncoordinated. For example, I am alright at sports, but pretty dismal at say, jazz dance. Doesnt stop me from having a blast though! I think there is something about watching movies and sprawling out in front of the couch that go hand in hand. And lastly, I already like you, so come talk to me! I look forward to meeting you.

[ Srikanth ] Man of Steel!

there\'s nothing I can\'t do.

[ Lauren ] Hello! I am a 3rd year Chemical Engineering major but I wasn\'t always. I started out as a political science/business/econ major. You can ask me about it in person if you\'d like to know more. I love to eat good food and watch movies and I enjoy laughing my head off. I think that\'s enough randomness to get us started. Can\'t wait to meet you!

[ Madalyn ] Madalyn is a BioE who likes living in other majors (mainly EECS and ME). If you leave her alone, she might end up taking 19 classes at once). Besides lowering her GPA Madalyn\\\\\\\'sn interests range from archery, to writing poetry, to FOOD. mmmmmmm. Oh and Madalyn does research in the PolyPEDAL lab on biomechanics, robotics (right now I am working on neural control architechtures applied to hopper models--yey for 24 dimentional problems!--and gait determination and stability of cockroach-inspired robots). If you\\\\\\\'re interested in research....feel free to ask questions! :):) ~INDREL~

[ Aaron ] Aaron is a ME major, especially interested in thermodynamics. When he is not merrily frolicking in the halls of Etcherverry, he enjoys theater (and is in fact minoring in it). He also teaches Jewish Studies 198: Israeli Folk Dancing, and thinks you should check out ifdecal.berkeley.edu if you think that sounds interesting. He hails from Agoura Hills, California, and if you don\'t know where that is, well, you just don\'t know what you\'re missing.

[ Alan ] Hi My name is Jamel and I\'m a 3rd year Civil Engineer. When not hanging out around Davis, I also like sports, video games, and going to all the great TBP events. and as a side note, strawberries are way better than mangos...i don\'t know what some other officers are thinking

[ Joanna ] Hi, I\'m a 2nd year Bioengineering major interested in computational biology / bioinformatics. As hobbies, I enjoy playing the piano and doing crafts like beading and origami. Hm...I should try to remember how to fold origami bunnies again......

[close]
[ Frank ] hey everybody, I\'m a second year ME with a side interest in math. I\'m the guy responsible for your newsletters at general meetings. If you have any articles, comments, suggestions, complaints, or interesting spam, please send it my way at fc4321@berkeley.edu.

[ Harry ] Whats up, I\'m a 2nd year in Bioengineering (the BEST engineering major) and this is my first semester as an officer in TBP. I like snowboarding, TBP, and long walks on the beach. I\'m learning the ropes to be Sysadmin for the IT Committee this semester, so hopefully nothing goes crazy with the server!

[ Albert ] Hello everyone! I am a third year EECS/Physics major, and I am on the IT committee this semester. I am a bit on the shy side, but please talk to me regardless! I would really like to meet all of you. On the forums I am ajul.

I am also a member of Eta Kappa Nu, and I play baritone for the Cal Band. I am on the team for the Weiner Lecture Archives, a site where we have split lower-division computer science webcasts into clips by topic and made the whole thing searchable. If any of you are taking CS 3 or 61A, B, or C, give it whirl!

In my free time I like to go to TBP events, play computer games, lurk on internet message boards, and, once in a while, compose poetry.

And since everyone else seems to be putting this sort of stuff in their bios: I was born in Tucson, Arizona, and I heartily endorse mangos. Mmm mmm!

[close]
[ Zi ] I am a second year undeclared engineering major, and this is my first semester on the IT committee. I\'ve lived in the Bay Area for the last ten years, and it looks like I will remain here until I graduate. I\'ve been interested in Computer science for a long time now and have dabbled in a variety of programming languages. After joining TBP I\'ve enjoyed going to all their events and realizing how awesome everyone in TBP is. Feel free to talk to me!

[ Walter ] Hi, I am a 2nd year EECS student. To counterbalance the innate geekiness of EECS, I like to play basketball and lots of it. This will be my first time as historian. If you see 200+ photos for an event in the gallery, and most of them are duplicates with various differences in fuzziness, that might be because I went crazy with my camera and uploaded them all onto the web (sorry, Chris). Photography tips are always welcome :)

[ Akshay ] . . .

[ Matthew ] Howdy all, my name\'s Matt Samuels and I\'m one of your Advising officers for this semester. I\'m a second-year bioE major (what what!), but sadly I\'m a cop-out and plan on attending law school after I graduate. My passions include sports (namely football, basketball, and soccer), chatting with my friends, watching awesome TV shows (a la Dexter, Arrested Development, House), going out to see movies (action and comedies tickle my fancy), and of course eating delicious food. I encourage all you new candidates to consider taking an active part in TBP - every experience I\'ve had in TBP has been irreplaceable.

[ David ] I like long walks on the beach, candlelit dinners, and the cool refreshing taste of an ice cold ginger ale.
